If you’ve ever thought about experiencing the thrill of road racing, check out the Thruxton Cup TransAtlantic Challenge. It’s a fun, affordable way to enjoy the speed, competition and camaraderie of racing at some of the country’s best road courses.
The series is very welcoming to new riders and entering is simple. First, get the appropriate riding gear and track prep your Thruxton to AHRMA (American Historic Racing Motorcycle Association) safety rules. Then, purchase an AHRMA membership and sign up to participate. You can get your racing license on the Friday of an AHRMA race weekend and compete that Saturday and Sunday. After the race weekend, your Thruxton’s racing modifications can quickly be reversed so you can keep riding it on the street.
The 2013 Thruxton Cup schedule includes some of the most thrilling race courses in the country, including Barber Motorsports Park, Daytona International Speedway, Road America, and Sonoma Raceway (formerly Sears Point/Infineon). Racing runs from late March through mid-October.
Thruxton Cup competitors treat each other as family, make safety a priority and have a great time. Racers pit together, share parts, tools, stories and memories. It’s all part of an experience that you won’t soon forget.
